Riserva Naturale Zingaro

Between San Vito lo Capo and Castellammare del Golfo the Zingaro Park is located, one of the oldest nature parks in Sicily. Miles of unspoiled naturetrails from the coastline to the mountains make it perfect area for hiking and of course swimming. Admission to this small paradise was ¤3 in 2008.
Trapani The well-maintained trails in the park Zingaro lead through one of the largest ecosystems on the island and reach to a height of nearly one thousand meters above sea level. The bird life is very diverse: many endangered species, including the legendary Bonelli-hawk, will breed here. In the midst of this reserve is the prehistoric cave dell'Uzzo, a large cave and the first human settlement in the area.
On the southern boundary of the Zingaro Park lies Scopello. The area is a popular holiday retreat not only for the rich and the beautiful of Palermo. Worth seeing is the Tonnara (disused tuna factory) on the beach with the very picturesquely situated i Faraglioni islets in the background.
